How do you keep a steady internet connection when playing Battlefield 2?

When i play battlefield 2. It'll sometimes lag up. and soemtimes it'll say There is a problem with your connection and it'll quit me out ... but there really isn't a problem. First tell me how lag is created and then How to fix this problem? please!How do you keep a steady internet connection when playing Battlefield 2?
lag is when information doesn't reach the server or vice versa. sometimes a firewall can make this happen. some times it is the server you are playing on if it is happening on all the servers then it could be your isp. how to fix it that is a tough question to answer. first you can make sure nothing is being d/led when you are playing, check to see if you have line noise through your isp. try servers that are closer to you that is all i can think of right now. you can go to www.speedtest.net and see how fast your connection is to see if it is usually bad or not.How do you keep a steady internet connection when playing Battlefield 2?
