Can women be Navy Corpsman on the battlefield?

Someone close to me was shot and killed in Iraq, and I want to make a difference. I already want to be a medical specialist, but I want to be immediately useful to those who are injured. Is it possible to be a battlefield Navy Corpsman? Can women be Navy Corpsman on the battlefield?
FMF Corpsmen can be women. I have been in enough non-infantry battalions to know this and have worked with female Corpsmen. And yes they even go outside the wire when we sent out convoys or recovery missions. And I even know at least one with a combat action ribbon. So yes female Navy Corpsman can be on the "battlefield" you just won't be with an infantry battalion. And depending on your unit you may or may not ever leave the wire if you get deployed.
If you want to be a Navy Corpsman and be on the battlefield, than that requires you to be FMF (Fleet Marine Force) green side. And thats going out with a Marine Infantry Unit, and women just are not allowed on the battlefield. Can women be Navy Corpsman on the battlefield?
Under present law women cannot be ordered into combat, and certain billets/occupations that are combat primary are thus closed to women; Women can, and do, serve in a war zone, and if they find themselves under attack will have to do what needs to be done.
no. females cannot be line HMs embedded with Marines. you can go FMSS, just not outside the wire.

and currently HM is compeltely closed to females period as there are no open slots that they are allowed in. .Can women be Navy Corpsman on the battlefield?
FMF corpsman are the ones that serve directly alongside Marines, that particular position is not open to women, however there are many other corpsman jobs where you will be able to help injured Marines.
