When Crysis 2 was released, the so called "limited edition" wasn't as limited as it was made to seem. I've seen quite a few "Limited Editions" on store shelves months after it's release.
I'm wondering if this will be the case with Battlefield 3. If it is, there really isn't a point in pre-ordering if I could simply walk into a store and buy the limited edition on release date.

Ok I recently got Battlefield 3 for my PS3 and It needs to install an update in order to play multiplayer. The update is about 700 MB. I tried downloading the update 3 times but the connection keeps timing out and I get an error message saying " An error occurred during the download operation ". You just need to have unlocked the tier 1 weapon for the class you want to unlock the tier 2 weapon for, bt you need to play a map of the Special Forces expansion pack before you can unlock any tier 2 weapons. This is NOT (thankfully) Battlefield Bad Company 3. This is the long awaited, anticipated sequel to Battlefield 2. Battlefield 1943 also has airplanes and is an awesome game. Trust DICE to know how to make it work, they have done this before.
Battlefield's 3 gaming experience has evovled into basically what you would call "real world situations" so i think that battlefield 3 really wanted to get the gamers attention by adding the jets to make this a much more realistic battle and to get the gamers grasp on what a battle would feel like.
I think you're right, but I'm hoping it just enhances the game experience. If it doesn't...well then that would be the first and only flaw of BF3 I've noticed so far. :)

I'm a girl who plays battlefield 3 and I wonder why there wasnt a girl on there. There are woman in the army. Why can't they be in a game? They are supposedly making a second Medal of Honor (I saw the ad in my copy of MW3 when I got it), but I don't know exactly when it's launching.
I prefer Battlefield myself. The newest installment, Battlefield 3, has a lot to offer. The biggest change is the new engine that is used. It allows for environment to be destroyed in real time. If you put C-4 explosives on a building it will blow a hole in the wall and such. Battlefield has huge maps, vehicles(jets,tanks,jeeps and so on) which makes the game much more challenging in my opinion. It also has multiple modes of play i.e. team death-match, squad death-match, conquest and so on. Battle field is more of a strategic warfare game rather than the usual "run and gun" shooter games. Some of the modes require a lot of teamwork in order for you to do well. Of course it still has the all for one and one for all modes for those who like to just shoot people and not worry about doing any objectives. The only drawback I can see is the starting load-out of guns when you first start. As you play the game and get points you level up and therefore unlock better guns and better attachments for your guns. That in turn will make you better. Well, they are both good games but there are some differences.
BF: BC doesn't have customizable classes so if your using a sniper and don't want the silencer, then bad luck for you
COD 4 does have customizable classes and I have to admit, better multiplayer. But no suppressors on the snipers.

Oh sure - they've had several of those in Iraq - but it's not a lot considering how many soldiers we had over there.
I don't think people are answering what you are asking. You aren't asking if Soldiers have been prosecuted for murder. That has happened and we know it will happen in the future. You are asking more about Soldiers in combat disobeying the ROE or the Law of Land Warfare? That is a lot harder to answer because it is hard to second guess a Soldier on the field of battle. But there have been cases where Soldiers have killed unarmed or surrendering enemy Soldiers and at least in one case that I can recall from WWII, the Soldier was prosecuted.
The rules are less strict then you might imagine because you don't have time to consider many rules during the actual conduct of an attack. You don't shoot obvious civilians if you can help it. You don't shoot a Soldier who is surrendering. There was a incident in WWII Italy with civilians and plenty of stuff involving SS.
My Dad was involved in the liberation of Buchenwald. He told me that the Russian POWs being held in a separate camp had overpowered the SS once there were very few left, liberated rifles and ammo and went to town...literally...supposedly killing all the SS and going into nearby villages killing every living thing. All I know about the SS from that point is from a book "You can't get much closer than this" written by a Lt in the same battalion as Dad. He states that the first Russians he met shot to SS in the back after telling them to run off. @ Russian Officers than stayed with the 317th IR until they hooked up with Russian Forces in Austria. I don't think people are answering what you are asking. You aren't asking if Soldiers have been prosecuted for murder. That has happened and we know it will happen in the future. You are asking more about Soldiers in combat disobeying the ROE or the Law of Land Warfare? That is a lot harder to answer because it is hard to second guess a Soldier on the field of battle. But there have been cases where Soldiers have killed unarmed or surrendering enemy Soldiers and at least in one case that I can recall from WWII, the Soldier was prosecuted.
The rules are less strict then you might imagine because you don't have time to consider many rules during the actual conduct of an attack. You don't shoot obvious civilians if you can help it. You don't shoot a Soldier who is surrendering. My Dad was involved in the liberation of Buchenwald. I would use earbuds for better sound and not creating feed-back having the sound and mic so close to each other. It worked fine for me, and no lag (sorry, Funk Doc), so I would imagine it would work fine in Battlefield 2142.
Be sure to assign the built-in mic in your system preferences settings, as well as the game preferences. Have fun.

BATTLEFIELD - 3 is the best looking FPS till date surpassing Crysis Series but when talking about performance its not that resource hungry, as per EA DICE any Graphics card above or similar to ATI RADEON 3870 will run it pretty smooth but there are more things than just the Graphics card that you have to keep in mind. Some of them are mentioned below:
1. DICE has used "HAVOK" as the physx engine similar to their past Battlefield games which is more CPU intensive than GPU. Hence in order to run BF3 smooth u need to have a good dual core (quad core most preferable) CPU. I would recommend to go for an AMD Phenom II X2 555 or 560 or 565 which can be further unlocked to quad cores on most am3 motherboards nowadays and price starting from about $80 or else u go for a phenom ii x4 for as cheap as $110.
2. The game performance also depends on the monitor resolution that u are using. If you play on resolutions like 1024x768 you would find it running pretty smooth on a system with lower specs, so in case if you r planning to run it on high resolutions like 1680x1050, 1920x1080 or above then u need to have a better GPU.
3. Battlefield 3 has four default settings for quality level from low, medium, high to ultra settings again their is a custom setting option available to set up your own. But obviously if you want to run it on Ultra high settings u need to have a CPU similar to phenom ii x6 or core i7 (even some high end core i5s) and a GPU equivalent or above GTX 560 ti or similar (these are tried and tested settings keeping in mind the average 30 fps requirement of bf3).
4. The most important thing as per me is your cooling part, You must go for a cabinet which has proper cooling (at least proper air flow) available or else your game experience will start suffering after 20 to 30 minutes of gameplay.

A budget combination of phenom ii x2 555 CPU with a Nvidia GTS 450 or similar can run BF3 pretty smooth on medium to high settings with resolutions of about 1920x1080 (forget the Graphic card reviews posted on several websites, the FPS they show is pretty much dependent on the CPU they use... especially when we talk of Battlefield Series.

I would say Bad Company 2, the campaign is good and the online has longevity to it.
I haven't played Lost Planet 2 so I can't help with that one. I play Bad Company 2 quite regularly, though. The single player campaign is good and a decent length, though not huge. The online multiplayer is competitive but not as frustrating as some games, and the size of the maps/teams allows for some thought and strategy, as well as giving you the chance to vary how you play. If you find yourself with a talkative squad (as I did only a couple of days ago), it's enormous fun. Even without that, I consider it very good.
Graphically, the environments are detailed and largely quite impressive, though the desert ones less so. The character models are fine, but not as well animated as in some games. The sound, which is something I don't usually notice, is outstanding. At one point in the campaign I fired a shot from a sniper rifle into a kind of canyon area, and the sound echoed quite impressively.
In essence, what I'm getting at is I can strongly recommend Bad Company 2. I can't compare it to Lost Planet 2 though, sorry.Which game should i get for the xbox 360 battlefield bad company 2 or lost planet 2?

LOST PLANET 2 is ONLY %26amp; I MEAN only amazing Co-Op you will not survive alone because your ally AI are stupid. The game is amazing if you have a friend to play with you.

1. characters look stupid. on the other hand bat company 2 voice acting is stupid
2.train level is very hard.
3. could never survive without a human co-op friend.
I would advise you to wait for halo reach or gears of war 3.

Diddy, are you kidding me? Battlefield online is MUCH better than Cod. CoD has campers, glitchers, dropshotting, quickscoping...how is that even fun? CoD is so broken. The story is amazing, but that's it. No matter how many CoD's come out, Battlefield will always be the winner in my book. Infinity Ward is just a bad company IMO.

Do soldiers wear earplugs when fighting in the battlefield?
I remember going to a shooting range once without wearing my earplugs, and as soon as the guns start firing, my ears were ringing. Is this what happens to soldiers in the battlefield?Do soldiers wear earplugs when fighting in the battlefield?

And after you start firing, you don't even think, "I wish I had my earplugs in." You're thinking about a few other things.
Some AFSCs and MOSs (jobs) in the military use ear protection extensively and it is part of their standard equipment. For combat soldiers that is not the case as they don't have time to put them in, can't hear as well where opposing weapons fire is coming from, nor the orders, shouts, and commands of their fellow soldiers. Hearing loss of some kind is one thing that the the VA automatically includes in an automatic 10% ddisability finding for all vets because they know it is going to occur.Do soldiers wear earplugs when fighting in the battlefield?
Actually for my unit it was SOP to have earplugs and wear them when outside the FOB. I can't speak for every unit that served in Iraq but that's how we rolled.

Ear plugs actually cut down on your auditory acuity, which means that sounds that could save your life are NOT heard. They essentially knock 30dB off the incoming noises. So if you're walking down the street, you won't hear the guy with the knife creeping up behind you.

Sometimes we do or didn't. I lot of folks acted liked they were to cool to wear them. fine by me. We wore the new ones with the two colors (brown and yellow sides) when possible or the issued ones or the old soft, squishy yellow ones (cigarette butts.lol). The were mandatory for wear and yes, you can hear someone yelling. Not good for creeping in a quiet street or in a dark house. But in a convoy, perfect. They saved my hearing in a SBVIED blast 15 feet away and were even melted along with alot of other stuff. But my hearing was saved. The Marine driving right in front of me wasn't wearing half his stuff and was badly burned and sharpnel all in him. We both were tore up in Ramadi along with the Marine gunner. Good fellas though. Too bad he lost his hearing his left ear.
Anyway, wear you shyt. You want to file a claim for hearing loss and your a machine gunner or artillery gun bunny and were issued earplugs, you'll look stupid when you say I didn't feel like wearing them. Oh by the way, we do investigations on wounding and deaths with the Safety civllians and that's one of the things they look at along with eye protection and gloves. Its the way it is. You got it, wear the junk. It will work to a point and its better than nothing unless your name is Logan or Clark Kent.

SMGs on full automatic fire can be deafening like the old M3A1 'Greasegun'. I like those fitted with a sound suppressor, Ha! Ha!
in a perfect situation they would but to tell you the truth we dont because i dont think that haji is going to pause the shooting to give us time to put ear plugs in.. all the fights i been in happend in a split second never had time to do it an

I just retired from the Army, and I have serious hearing damage in both ears - the left is worse off, as the right was somewhat protected by being directly behind my weapon.
It's just the price you have to pay - unfortunate but true. That what's nice about getting disability compensation from the VA.

Many engagements he personally was involved can get "loud". It was extremely important as the "battle" continued to understand and hear orders during. He said, although "ear" maybe "ringing" you can still hear "commands", with "ear plugs" you may not and possibly "killed".

Who is with me in disagreeing women should be on the battlefield in Iraq?
I am very sad to learn that there are girls younger then my husband's little sister who are on the battlefield in Iraq and dying. I am not military intelligent, but I think it is wrong to put girls and women on the battlefield. Shouldn't it be the men's place to fight our wars? Are they not made and built better for battle? I am not bias in any way, I just think war is something nations should use the men for in battle. We always did this before. How do I unlock the M1 Garand in Battlefield Bad Company 2?

Below I'll provide each and every step I took to getting the gun.
Let's get this straight.
First, and this is very important. You will need two Battlefield games registered under your EA/PSN linked account. And that's important too, you'll need your accounts linked. You can download the demos for either BF2 or BF2412. I haven't verified that 2412 works, but BF2 did for me. I also used BF Heroes.
Here's the thing, BF1943 and BFBC2 don't seem to work on the veteran site currently, despite my owning both. So I had to use this work around.
Ok, now that you've got these prerequisites out of the way, you'll need to log into http://veteran.battlefield.com/. From the drop down list you can pick the demos you downloaded, for me BF Heroes automatically showed up. Once you have this done continue down to the steps to unlock your Garand.
NOTE: IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT YOU NEED TO REGISTER THESE DEMOS AND/OR BF HEROES UNDER THE SAME NAME AND ACCOUNT THAT YOU HAVE TIED BETWEEN YOUR PSN AND EA!
I'll lay out how I did it step by step.

2: Now change the address manually to www.battlefieldbadcompany2.com/stats. This will bring up your stat sheet, and it will most likely not be updated, but that's ok.
3: Now, on the stat sheet you should see a little avatar/icon of a soldier of some sort on the upper left hand of the screen. Next to this icon, to the right a bit you should see Position, System and Veteran Status. This part is simple. Simply click on Veteran Status.
4: This is assuming you have at least two games registered. The BF2 demo worked for me, so I can confirm that you can use that, as well as signing up for Battlefield Heroes, which I also did. These two games alone will give you Veteran Rank 1, enough to unlock the M1 Garand.
5: Ok, now that that's all said and one, log into the game, and go to "My Stats" under the Multiplayer option. This should update your stats and recognize the signal for your Veteran status, thus unlocking the Garand. If it worked you'll get a little confirmation message stating so.

There is only ONE PLACE in the Gettysburg Military Battlefield area where weddings (or special events) are permitted and that is the Amphitheater. There is one bed and breakfast who claims they are on "battlefield" property and they do weddings there. Start with the Visitors Bureau, they will put you in contact with the "government" office that issues permits for the Amphitheater. And, yes, there is a charge for the permit.
Don't put yourself in jeopardy by getting married at the Amphitheater without a permit or in a different location. Many of the park rangers are dressed like tourists and they do have the authority to arrest you.

There is only ONE PLACE in the Gettysburg Military Battlefield area where weddings (or special events) are permitted and that is the Amphitheater. There is one bed and breakfast who claims they are on "battlefield" property and they do weddings there. Start with the Visitors Bureau, they will put you in contact with the "government" office that issues permits for the Amphitheater. And, yes, there is a charge for the permit.
Don't put yourself in jeopardy by getting married at the Amphitheater without a permit or in a different location. Many of the park rangers are dressed like tourists and they do have the authority to arrest you.
