Does picking up a weapon in Battlefield 3 change your class?

If you pick up a weapon from a different class in Battlefield 3, will you change classes? Will XP go to the weapon's class, or the one you spawned as. Also, will loadout and appearace change?Does picking up a weapon in Battlefield 3 change your class?

Nope, the class you started out as will remain, however you will level up the weapon you picked up.
